Below the Surface (Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 - 12:49 p.m.)

cool cerulean wavering light
forms, deforms, and reforms shapes
along the smooth, sandy shores of my mind
eddies and whorls play tricks with the light
persistent inconsistency, or is it?
searching, looking, seeking
some semblance of order
delightfully difficult
diving in, surrounded
flowing over the core.
and you: the water
below your surface is where
life thrives: subtle, ethereal.
unwitting to me, you became one
with all I am: uneven, coarse:
the unrefined me.
thrown again and again against
the edges as they are found
sought out by your questing tendrils
discovering that which lay hidden
these bits and pieces are now yours
to color your world in some small way
as youve changed mine forever.
